Women’s Imaging

The term women’s imaging is often used to describe gynaecological and obstetric ultrasound services. At Southern Radiology a more holistic approach to women’s health has been adopted. At Southern Radiology we offer women specialised breast imaging services and interventional techniques as well as gynaecological and obstetric diagnostic studies.

Breast Imaging

The Southern Radiology Group offers a comprehensive breast imaging service. Examinations offered are:

• Mammography
• Breast Ultrasound
• Breast MRI

Southern Radiology runs an accredited breast imaging service under the guidance of Radiologists and Radiographers with years of Breast Screen experience and post graduate professional development in the field.

Breast Interventional Radiology Services

Interventional services offered include:

• Fine needle aspiration/biopsy
• Core biopsy
• Stereotactic Biopsy
• Pre-surgical localisations- hook wire placement

O&G Diagnostic Ultrasound

Obstetric & Gynaecological ultrasound services are provided at all Southern Radiology sites.

Southern Radiology offers these services through a collaborative approach with gynaecologists and obstetricians from Obstetrics & Gynaecologic Imaging.

Obstetric and Gynaecological services facilitated by the group are:

• Pelvic Ultrasound
• Obstetric Ultrasound  ( 1^st,2^nd,3^rd trimester scans)
• Nuchal Translucency scans
• Chorionic Villus Sampling
• Amniocentesis
• HyCoSy
• Sonohysterogram
