Pain Management is a sub-specialised field of interventional radiology with a focus on musculoskeletal (joint) and spinal pain relief.

Pain Management techniques available at Southern Radiology include:

Spinal Injections

• Facet Joint injections – injection into joints of the spine
• Perineural injections (foraminal block) – injections along nerve roots of the spine
• Epidural injections –  corticosteroid injection into the spinal canal .

Joint injections

Anti-inflammatory injections can be performed in many joints including feet, ankles, knees, hips and shoulders

Veterbroplasty

Veterbroplasty is a technique used to treat crush fractures in the spine (most commonly performed on osteoporotic patients)
