Prostate Imaging

According to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia:

Each year in Australia, close to 3,300 men die of prostate cancer – equal to the number of women who die from breast cancer annually. Around 20,000 new cases are diagnosed in Australia every year. One in 9 men in Australia will develop prostate cancer in their lifetime1

As with any cancer there is three ways to decrease the rate of death from prostate cancer: prevention; early detection and treatment, and successful treatment of advanced disease. At Southern Radiology we are working with prominent specialists in the field of prostate cancer to enhance diagnostic imaging specificity for detection and staging of prostate cancer.

Additional surveys, such as The National Health Survey, have shown that nearly twice as many males as females are affected by chronic coronary heart disease.
